A harmonised standard is a European standard developed by a recognised European Standards Organisation. The harmonised standards can be used to demonstrate that products, services, or processes comply with relevant EU legislation. These are catalogued by type of technology or application. The site can also be searched by keyword. All harmonised standards that give a presumption of conformity to EU law.
Guidance for CE marking is provided including guidance for manufacturers (based on product group) and for importers/distributors. Links to country based support are also available. For organisation within GB the UKCA marking is not recognised on the EU market. Products need a CE marking for sale in the EU.
NANDO provides a list of notified bodies (including contact details) designated to carry out EU conformity assessments according to a relevant directive. It also includes other countries with which the EU has concluded Mutual Recognition Agreements (MRAs) and Protocols. The website can be searched using keywords, by product or by legislation. A separate country search is also available.
The ISO catalogue can be browsed by ICS (International Classification) or by TC (Technical Committee). TC categories range from “Screw threads” to “Aircraft and space vehicles”. The generally broader ICS classifications may include the TC categories as fields. Keyword searches are also possible.
